The new Berlin-based frontline label gives Warner a dedicated German home under veteran executive Lea Londa.
Warner Music Central Europe has launched Warner Records Germany, putting one of the company’s best-known global labels on the ground in Berlin and handing the operation to longtime Warner executive Lea Londa.
The move gives Warner a dedicated frontline label for the German market, with Londa named director and reporting to Jean-Sebastien Permal, SVP of A&R for Central Europe and EMEA. Warner framed the launch as a push for growth, artist development and a stronger local identity built around a major international brand.
Berlin gets a dedicated Warner Records home
Warner Records Germany is being positioned as an elite frontline label operating out of Berlin. The company said the launch is meant to connect the legacy of Warner Records in the U.S. with the German market’s own cultural center of gravity.
This is not a new label name dropped onto an existing structure. It is a clearer local setup, with Warner Music Central Europe putting a recognizable banner in place for German signings and campaigns. The company has been building out its regional structure over the past year, and this launch fits that pattern.
For Warner, the message is straightforward: artists in Germany should have a label home that is both locally rooted and tied to a global machine.
Lea Londa takes the lead after 16 years in the business
Londa’s appointment is the core of the story. She has spent more than a decade at Warner Music Central Europe and has 16 years in the industry overall. Her path inside the company has been steady, moving from Media Manager to Marketing Director before taking the top job at the new label.
Warner pointed to her work across dance, rap, pop and rock, including campaigns for Coldplay, Enya, Ed Sheeran and Linkin Park. The company also highlighted her role in the campaign behind Udo Lindenberg x Apache 207’s “Komet,” which it described as the longest running No. 1 German single in history.
Her track record in the local market matters here. Warner also cited her work supporting Provinz, helping drive multiple Gold and Platinum records for Robin Schulz, and developing MilleniumKid. That mix of domestic and international experience is clearly what Warner wanted in the chair.
A roster built around legacy and new names
Warner Records Germany is launching with a roster that mixes established names and newer acts. The label is championing Udo Lindenberg, Provinz, Yasola and LINA, which Warner described as a lineup that reflects both enduring superstars and next-generation talent.
That roster choice says as much about the label’s strategy as the appointment itself. Warner is not presenting this as a vanity launch or a short-term marketing exercise. The company is signaling a permanent home for artists it believes can anchor the label over time.
Londa said the launch marks a pivotal moment and said she is excited to shape the label’s future with artists she has worked closely with for years, while also bringing in new talent. Permal said she was the clear choice to lead the new operation, citing the trust she has earned from artists and her view of what a modern frontline label should offer.
Niels Walboomers, president of Warner Music Central Europe, said the launch the company’s commitment to the region and its plan to build an “elite, modern label model” from Berlin. The structure is now in place. The real test is whether Warner Records Germany can turn that setup into lasting market share and artist loyalty.
