Radiohead Set 21-date 2027 Run Across Australia and Japan

The band’s next tour lands in arenas in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Saitama, with tickets sold only through Radiohead’s website.

Radiohead have confirmed a 21-date 2027 tour that will take the band through Australia and Japan next summer, ending weeks of speculation after fans spotted cryptic postcards in both countries.

The run starts May 3 at RAC Arena in Perth and follows the same playbook as the band’s 2025 European dates: multiple nights in a small number of arenas, built for consecutive shows rather than a wide sweep of one-offs. Radiohead will play four nights in Perth, six in Melbourne at Rod Laver Arena, six in Sydney at Afterpay Arena, then finish with five nights at GMO Arena in Saitama, just north of Tokyo, beginning June 8.

A return to markets they have largely left behind

The Australia dates mark Radiohead’s first shows there since 2012. Japan has been even longer out of reach as a headlining market; the band last topped a bill there in October 2008 during the In Rainbows cycle. They did return for Summer Sonic in 2016, but this is the first full-scale run in the country in years.

The 2027 announcement lands exactly one year after Radiohead revealed a fall 2025 European tour, which was their first live run since 2018. That stretch gave fans career-spanning sets and a few deep cuts that had been missing for years, including “Jigsaw Falling into Place” and “(Nice Dream),” both played for the first time in 16 years, along with “Just,” absent since 2009, and “Kid A” and “Talk Show Host,” last heard live in 2018.

Ed O’Brien had already signaled more was coming

Earlier this year, guitarist Ed O’Brien told Rolling Stone that more shows were on the way. “It’s definitely happening,” he said. “What we’re going to do is, every year we’re going to do a different continent, and we’re going to do 20 shows each year. No more, no less.”

That comment now reads like a roadmap. The 2027 dates fit the band’s current approach: limited geography, tightly controlled routing, and enough repetition in each market to make the production worth the move. For a band that has spent years away from the road, it also keeps demand concentrated.

Tickets go through the band, not the usual marketplace

Tickets for the tour will be available only through Radiohead’s website, with registration opening Sept. 7 at 3 a.m. ET. No outside ticketing route was announced.

The timing also gives the band a clean runway into the fall, when In Rainbows turns 20. Whether that anniversary shapes the set list is still unknown, but the 2025 European dates showed Radiohead are willing to reach deep into the catalog when they return to the stage.

For now, the message is simple: the band is back on the road, and this time the map runs through Australia and Japan.
